Create a noteUsing VNote
What is VNote?
VNote is a simple note app where every note has its own link. Open the link to write, come back to it later, or send it to someone else.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can open VNote and start writing without creating an account.
How do I create a new note?
Go to VNote and you'll be taken to a new note automatically. Each new note gets its own unique link, and you can start writing right away.
How do I share a note?
Copy the note link from your browser and send it to the person you want to share it with. If you've added a password, they'll need that too.
Writing and saving
What's the difference between Normal Editor and Rich Editor?
Use the Normal Editor for quick text notes. It saves automatically and supports realtime updates.
Use the Rich Editor when you need formatting, images, or longer article-style content. Rich Editor changes are published manually instead of being saved automatically.
Does the Normal Editor save automatically?
Yes. VNote saves changes automatically as you type. You'll see the save status in the editor. If you've just finished typing and want to close the page immediately, wait until the note shows that it has been saved.
Does the Rich Editor save automatically too?
No. The Rich Editor uses manual publishing. When you're ready, publish the article and wait for the success message before leaving the page.
Can multiple people edit the same note?
Yes. If the same note is open in more than one browser or device, updates can appear in realtime. VNote doesn't currently merge simultaneous edits like Google Docs does. If two people change the same content at the same time, one person's edit may overwrite the other's.
Privacy and access
Is a note private just because its link is unique?
No. A unique link makes a note harder to stumble across, but it doesn't make the note private. If someone gets the link, they may be able to open the note. Add a password when you want to limit access.
What does password protection do?
A password adds another step before someone can open or edit the note. Anyone accessing a protected note will need to authenticate first. VNote stores a secure hash of the password rather than the password itself.
Is note content end-to-end encrypted?
No. Password protection controls who can access a note, but it does not provide end-to-end encryption. HTTPS protects your data while it travels between your browser and VNote's server. It does not mean the note itself is end-to-end encrypted.
Images and audio
Can I add images to an article?
Yes. The Rich Editor supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP images. You can currently add up to 10 tracked images to an article, with a maximum file size of 3 MB per image.
Can VNote transcribe audio?
Yes. VNote can turn supported MP3 and WAV audio files into text. Audio files can currently be up to 10 MB each, and you can upload up to three files at a time.
